SMTOWNSNSD AT THE SHORTY AWARDS 2012
On 26th March this year, the Shorty Award for Best Fansite was awarded to Sherlockology (@Sherlockology). While we did not win this award, we come in second, with a total of 1270 votes; more than twice the number of most nominees outside the top 5 spots. With more than 30,000 voters participating in this category and approximately 2920 nominees in it, this can be seen as somewhat of a coup for SMTownSNSD and even more importantly, our Soshi girls.

Our Lively Princess Sooyoung recently appeared in the May issue of Marie Claire magazine. She had dazzled with her grace and elegance in the pictures from her photoshoot, and now, her interview with from the shoot has been released…with English subtitles! GIRLS' GENERATION CONCERT ON GOOGLE
Following their appearance on the LA Times Newspaper, the girls have once again proved the extensiveness of their popularity in the US. On May 21st at 6:00 pm PST, they will be performing at a concert alongside other groups including Super Junior and Wonder Girls. It will be held at the Google headquarters in San Jose, California.
Anyone living in the Bay Area? Lucky you! Well, kind of. The concert will be employee-only. *goes to a corner and cries* But perhaps..you will see them in the area…?

GIRLS’ GENERATION TAETISEO HAS DEBUTED ON BILLBOARD’S 200!
On May 3rd, Billboard published the new weekly charts for the U.S. Billboard 200. On this chart, Taetiseo’s ‘Twinkle‘ charted at number 126. This record is significant in that the Billboard 200 is known as the definitive chart for album sales in the United States.

Super Junior‘s Leeteuk announced that any guy who wants to date Girls’ Generation‘s Seohyun would have to first receive permission from himself.

SEOHYUN OFFICIALLY APPOINTED AS THE GOODWILL AMBASSADOR FOR THE UNITED NATIONS PAVILION YEOSU EXPO 2012
Seohyun has been officially appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Pavilion Yeosu Expo 2012.
On May 3rd, a representative in charge of the Expo 2012, which will be held starting May 12th stated, “Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun understands the purposes of UN Pavilion and is determined to show the significance of marine environment to the world. Therefore, she has accepted the role of a Goodwill Ambassador.”
